It is a beach that features very fine and white sand where you can get a very nice view of Cancún coast. There’s a huge variety of places for shopping & food. We recommend to go to Trattoria Limoncello for lunch or dinner, a good place for Italian food; you can also enjoy a delicious dessert and a good drink of your choice at Starbucks in Plaza Caracol or you can stop in at the super market right in front of it and pick up your drinks and snacks yourself before heading over to the beach.
Playa Mamitas in Playa del Carmen
This is a joyful and beautiful beach having a full of life, funny atmosphere, that’s why you can be assured of having a great time here. Playa Mamitas is practically next to the Fifth Avenue in Playa del Carmen, so you can have a huge variety of food, shopping places and art galleries nearby.
Akumal Beach in Riviera Maya
Akumal is an excellent place made up of some beautiful bays where you can relax and rest because of its tranquil and nice environment and its soft white sand beaches. Snorkeling and diving spots are bountiful and worth being explored. Visitors can even seasonally (especially May through November) swim with green sea turtles (Chelonia Mydas). The Akumal shoreline is well known by sheltering Sea turtle nests and there is a range of choice about restaurants and dive shops alongside the coastal line. Either going northwards or southwards from Akumal beach, there are very nice parks where you can do snorkeling and even meet turtles on the way!

Interesting things about sea turtles
How on earth is a sea turtle capable of getting away from her nesting beach for around 8,000 miles (12,900 km) after being hatched and get back into it to lay her eggs at the very same stretch of beach two or four years later?
