Tulum – Cobá – Cenote (Sink-hole water)

This is a tour where you will learn how the Maya established their commercial alliances and sea and land routes as well as the way these activities were carried out, how they were guided to know when to fulfill different activities, events and ceremonies by keeping track of the sun’s, moon’s and venus’ movements and positions and also the remarkable architectural features that stand out about both Maya sites. You can also relax while walking, taking pictures, listening interesting theories about Tulum and Coba, going bikeriding through Coba’s sacbes (white roads connecting different parts of the site).

Once in the Cenote

You’ll have a marvelous refreshing time once you go down into the limestone cenote and plunge into its beautiful, cool, crystal-clear waters. You will get nervous as you enter and look down seeing what awaits (it’s a super nice sensation). The thrilling ascent or descent before jumping from the high platform is absolutely breathtaking, it’ll no doubt be an unforgettable experience! Just get ready!

Visiting these gorgeous sink-holes (Choo-ha and Tankach-ha) is an excellent way to cool off after touring Tulum and Coba, especially on a hot day. Seeing the impressive rock formation on the underground ceiling is fascinating. Enjoy!

Chichen Itza – Cenote

This Maya site features a refined architecture, Chichen Itza buildings earnestly affirm the Yucatecan Maya architecture previously influenced by Mexican architecture from Tula. They’re delicately constructed on veneered masonry techniques, vaults and mosaic facades, hence, the site features innovating architectural and sculptural styles. The castle of Chichen Itza, which is actually a solar calendar, is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. You’ll get amazed when learning about its functioning and relevance for the Itzaes (high-rank people who lived in the city).

The Cenote is definitely a stunning open sink-hole water where you can relax and enjoy a serene, neat atmosphere while looking around and up to the sky, jumping and swimming in, it is a cool experience after visiting the ruins, however, it is not recommended now to make a cenote stop after Chichen Itza because the place is packed out at 11 a.m.

We’re sorry if you’re not going to be allowed to dive into it from ground level but, you can absolutely do so from a high platform and enjoy your swim. We highly recommend to arrive to this place at opening time 9 o’clock or 9:30 am at the latest.

Ek-Balam and Rio Lagartos (Crocodile River)

Rio lagartos tour
Left: Gulf of Mexico sea; Right: Lagoon in Rio Lagartos

One of the most picturesque Maya cities because of the beauty of its refined architecture and sculpture. This is one of the very few sites across Mexico where you can climb through pyramids and structures stairways. We can tell that getting back down from the top may be defiant for some persons, but you’ll make it, just take your time.

For worldwide nature lovers Rio Lagartos is a destination that can be enjoyed to the full. Everywhere you look around you can see different and interesting forms of colorful life such as flamingos and crocodiles and the varied bird species, and, what can we tell about the salt mines in Las Coloradas? That’s an awesome experience to tour it, seeing the pink waters near these mines is superb! especially when you’re on the middle road totally flanked by the Gulf of Mexico sea and the lagoon. So, either you’re a tourist or biologist, you’re going to have a terrific time here!
